Event Description: 

The Industrial Tomography Workshop (into2014) is a scientific conference that was organized at the University of Helsinki, Finland, taking place on October 13-15, 2014. The workshop brought together academic and industrial experts on tomography with a two-fold goal:
1. Transferring the latest scientific research results into commercial research and development pipeline, and
2. Educate the academic community about the current industrial needs related to tomography.
The background of the academic participants is physics, mathematics, signal and image processing, and engineering. Industrial representatives are invited from several business areas, including medical imaging and nondestructive testing technology.

The local organizing institutions are Department of Mathematics and Statistics of University of Helsinki and the Finnish Inverse Problems Society (http://www.fips.fi).
The annual Management Committee meeting of the EXTREMA COST Action took place as part of this workshop.

The EXTREMA COST Action provided reimbursement for 30 participants, covering travel and lodging costs and Local Organizer Support, for a total of € 29.727,25.
